Description
This is Saint Zélie Martin, mother of Saint Thérese, the Little Flower. She was made an official saint with her husband Louis in 2015 by Pope Francis. Saint Zélie found me around the time my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and has been very special to me ever since. She had a thriving at-home lace-making business in Alençon, France. She had nine kids with her husband Louis but lost 4 of them young (the remaining five all became nuns!). Marie Hélene was 5, Joseph Louis was 5 months, Joseph Jean-Baptiste was 8 months and little Marie Mélanie-Thérese was a month and a half. This is Saint Zélie when she first got to heaven after dying of breast cancer at the age of 45 and was re-united with all her little babies. What a scene it must have been! 😍
She and Louis’s feast day is July 12.
Saint Zélie, pray for us!
