Description
This is my Flight to Egypt. It’s based on one of my favorites by Merson. The only thing I thought would be different about the scene would be that I don’t think Saint Joseph would have been able to sleep. I think Mary would’ve been able too, having perfect trust in God (as Jesus did when he slept during the storm on the Sea of Galilee). But I think Saint Joseph would’ve been a little more wired. Maybe a little more like the rest of us. He would’ve really wanted to have perfect trust in God, but it would’ve been hard. Especially being entrusted with raising God and keeping him safe from homicidal maniacs by fleeing into a strange country without knowing if he’d find work, a house, food, etc. It might keep a guy up at night!
I did love Mary and the baby nestled into the arms of the statue, so I totally ripped that part!
